Kids Bedroom Themes

If you are having problems figuring out different ideas for updating your kids bedroom decor, you may want to take the time to consider some of the options below. These designs and themes should allow you to move from your childs young age, into their adolescent and teen years, without having to completely redo the bedroom again. You will want to make sure that you are thinking into the future with the design, or you could potentially run the risk of having to redo the entire bedroom, which could cost you more money than you’d probably want to spend.

Baby Nursery Decor – When you are planning the nursery for your crib baby, you are going to want to utilize light, pastel colors. The typical light and powder blue for a baby boy nursery, while a girls nursery in pastel or powder pink are perfect. When you use wall decals, you will want to ensure that they can be easily removed at a later date, unless you are going to plan to repaint the walls when your child is outgrowing the nursery look and feel.

Younger Kids – For younger kids, if you are going to repaint the walls, you can utilize darker colored blues for a boys room, and darker pinks for a girls room. White accents are perfect additions to both colors, and allow you to expand onto the decor at a later date. You will want to add a desk to their room, in order to help them develop the proper skills they will need to get through their later years in school, but you are also going to want to make sure there is plenty of room for them to continue playing with their toys, and even kick back to relax when they are ready to.

Teenagers – When your child has started to notice the various pressures in life due to growing older and experiencing new things and ideas, you may end up having a problem trying to decorate their room by yourself. Rather than putting them into shock with your own complete redesign, you will want to allow them to help you with the project. Allowing them to input their own ideas, and then make and see them come into fruition will help them develop their own personal sense of style, as well as allow you to be involved in the project.  Young teenage girls will surely want a white bedroom vanity so they can get ready for their day in the mornings.
